Itinéraire du Circuit

1
Arrive at Madurai Airport (IXM) or Madurai Junction (MDU) by 10:30 AM. Meet your dedicated chauffeur and transfer to your hotel. Complete check-in, unpack, and freshen up.

01:30 PM – 03:30 PM (Thirumalai Nayakkar Mahal): Visit the 17th-century palace built by King Thirumalai Nayak, renowned for its massive circular white stucco pillars (measuring 12 meters high and 4 meters wide) blending Dravidian and Islamic architectural styles.

04:30 PM – 08:00 PM (Sri Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple): Enter through the towering multi-tiered sculpted Gopurams into the historic Meenakshi Amman Temple, dedicated to Goddess Meenakshi (an avatar of Parvati) and Lord Sundareswarar (Shiva). Walk through the Hall of Thousand Pillars (Aayiram Kaal Mandapam), view the Golden Lotus Tank (Potramarai Kulam), and witness the evening camphor aarti.

Evening: Stroll through the temple perimeter bazaars to browse handloom Sungudi sarees and brass oil lamps. Savor traditional Madurai Kari Dosa or authentic temple-style meals with fragrant Jigarthanda. Overnight stay in Madurai.
2
07:30 AM – 11:30 AM (Drive across Pamban Sea Bridge): Check out after breakfast and drive east along NH-87 across the coastal plains of Ramanathapuram. Stop at the viewing point of the historic Pamban Bridge to watch the sea waters of the Palk Strait and Gulf of Mannar crash beneath the railway viaduct. Cross onto Pamban Island into Rameshwaram. Check into your hotel and freshen up.

01:00 PM – 04:30 PM (Dhanushkodi "Ghost Town" & Arichal Munai): Drive to the eastern tip of the island to Dhanushkodi, destroyed by the 1964 cyclone. Walk among the submerged ruins of the railway station, post office, and church. Continue to Arichal Munai (the southernmost tip of the Indian mainland), the meeting point of the Bay of Bengal (Mahodadhi) and the Indian Ocean (Ratnakara), gazing toward the submerged shoals of Ram Setu (Adam's Bridge).

05:00 PM – 08:00 PM (Ramanathaswamy Temple Darshan): Visit the sacred Sri Ramanathaswamy Temple, one of the 12 revered Shiva Jyotirlingas and a cardinal Char Dham destination. Walk through the Third Corridor, the longest pillared corridor in the world, flanked by 1,212 ornately carved granite pillars. Take darshan of the Spatika Lingam and the presiding deity. Overnight stay in Rameshwaram.
3
05:30 AM – 08:30 AM (Sacred Kund Theerthams Bath): Head to Agni Theertham (the sea bay) for morning prayers. Enter the temple inner sanctum to take the sacred ritual purification bath under each of the 22 Holy Theerthams (sweet-water wells inside the temple complex, each believed to possess distinct mineral and spiritual properties). Return to the hotel for a warm shower and hearty breakfast.

10:00 AM – 04:30 PM (Scenic Coastal Drive to Kanyakumari): Check out and drive south along the scenic East Coast Road via Tuticorin and Tirunelveli. Stop for lunch at a coastal highway restaurant.

05:00 PM – 06:45 PM (Sunset over the Triveni Sangam): Arrive in Kanyakumari, the southernmost tip of the Indian subcontinent. Check into your hotel. Walk to Kanyakumari Beach to witness the sunset over the Triveni Sangam—the confluence of the Arabian Sea, the Bay of Bengal, and the Indian Ocean. Visit the 3,000-year-old Bhagavathy Amman Temple (Kanyakumari Temple), dedicated to the virgin goddess holding her diamond nose ring that historically guided navigators. Overnight stay in Kanyakumari.
4
05:45 AM – 07:00 AM (Sunrise at Cape Comorin): Wake early to watch the sunrise emerge directly out of the ocean horizon at Cape Comorin. Return to the hotel for breakfast.

08:00 AM – 10:30 AM (Ferry to Vivekananda Rock & Thiruvalluvar Statue): Board the government ferry across the ocean channel to the Vivekananda Rock Memorial, perched on two rocky islets where Swami Vivekananda meditated in 1892. Admire the adjacent 133-foot stone Thiruvalluvar Statue dedicated to the ancient Tamil philosopher-poet. Visit the Gandhi Memorial Mandapam on the shore.

11:30 AM (Check-Out & Linear Departure Transit):

Recommended Drop at Trivandrum (TRV - 90 km / 2.5 hrs): Drive along NH-66 across the Kerala border, stopping briefly at the magnificent 16th-century wooden Padmanabhapuram Palace en route. Arrive at Trivandrum International Airport (TRV) or Kochuveli Railway Station by 03:00 PM – 04:00 PM for flights home.

Madurai Return Drop (245 km / 4.5 hrs): Alternatively, for travelers with roundtrip train tickets or flights out of Madurai, drive straight up the 4-lane NH-44 to Madurai Junction / Airport by 04:30 PM.
