Tour Itinerary

1
Arrive at Jammu Airport (IXJ) or Katra Railway Station (SVDK). Meet your dedicated chauffeur and transfer to your hotel in Katra ($45 km / 1.5 hrs from Jammu). Check in, freshen up, and collect your mandatory RFID Yatra Access Card at the registration counter.

Yatra Ascent to Bhawan ($12.5 km / 5,200 ft): Head to the Banganga or Tarakote Marg checkpoint. Begin the sacred ascent toward the Bhawan on foot, by battery car (from Ardhkuwari for eligible pilgrims), pony, palanquin (palki), or via pre-booked helicopter from Katra Helipad to Sanjichhat.

Holy Darshan: Arrive at the holy sanctum to pay homage to the natural rock pindies inside the Mata Vaishno Devi Cave Shrine representing Maha Kali, Maha Lakshmi, and Maha Saraswati. Take the passenger cable car up to Bhairon Ghati to complete the traditional pilgrimage.

Descent: Descend to Katra by early morning. Overnight stay at the hotel in Katra (or overnight accommodation at Bhawan / Katra).
2
08:30 AM (Highway Crossing into Kashmir Valley): Check out after a warm breakfast and drive north along the 4-lane NH-44 highway. Pass through Udhampur, the $9.28 km Chenani-Nashri Tunnel (Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee Tunnel), and follow the Chenab River gorge past Ramban.

The Gateway to the Valley: Traverse the $8.45 km Banihal-Qazigund Tunnel (Navyug Tunnel) through the Pir Panjal range, emerging directly into the fertile green plains of Kashmir at Qazigund.

Reach Pahalgam ($2,130 m / 7,000 ft): Follow the roaring turquoise Lidder River through Anantnag into Pahalgam ("Valley of Shepherds"). Check into your riverside resort or pine-clad cottage.

Evening: Unwind from the pilgrimage and road journey. Take a gentle walk along the rocky banks of the Lidder River, breathing in crisp Himalayan pine air. Dinner and overnight stay in Pahalgam.
3
08:30 AM – 01:00 PM (Betaab Valley & Chandanwari): Board a local Pahalgam Union-authorized vehicle to tour the upper river valleys:

Betaab Valley (Hajan Valley): Famous for its cinematic backdrop, framed by snow-capped peaks, pine forests, and clear streams.

Chandanwari (2,895 m): The starting roadhead for the annual Amarnath Yatra pilgrimage, known for its natural snow bridges and torrents.

02:00 PM – 05:30 PM (Aru Valley & Baisaran Meadow): Drive $12 km along a winding ridge to Aru Valley, a serene village surrounded by alpine pastures. Walk past traditional Gujjar log huts, or take an optional pony trek to Baisaran Meadow ("Mini Switzerland"), a high forest clearing overlooking the valley.

Evening: Stroll through the Pahalgam bazaar for hand-knotted Kashmiri carpets, saffron, and walnut-wood souvenirs. Fireside dinner. Overnight stay in Pahalgam.
4
08:30 AM – 11:30 AM (Drive through Pampore): Check out after breakfast and drive toward the central valley. Stop at Pampore to see the purple saffron fields and sample authentic Kashmiri almonds and walnuts. Cross the valley bypass through Magam and ascend the $14\text{ km}$ pine-lined mountain road from Tangmarg into Gulmarg ("Meadow of Flowers" - 2,650 m / 8,690 ft). Check into your mountain resort and freshen up.

12:30 PM – 04:30 PM (Gulmarg Gondola to Apharwat Peak): Board the world’s second-highest operating cable car system (pre-booked slots):

Phase 1 (Kongdoori - 3,050 m): Ascend through pine-clad slopes to the Kongdoori shoulder for meadow walks and snow activities.

Phase 2 (Apharwat Peak - 4,200 m / 13,780 ft): Ascend above the tree line to the windswept crest of Apharwat, right beneath the Line of Control, offering panoramic vistas of Himalayan summits.

05:00 PM – 06:30 PM (Meadow Walk & Victorian Church): Walk or ride a pony across the meadow to view the 110-year-old stone St. Mary’s Church and the historic Gulmarg Golf Course. Dinner and overnight stay in Gulmarg.
5
09:00 AM – 11:00 AM (Descent to Srinagar): Check out after breakfast and drive down through Tangmarg to Srinagar. Transfer along Boulevard Road to the shores of Dal Lake. 01:30 PM – 04:30 PM (Mughal Heritage Circuit): Explore the terraced pleasure gardens laid out by Mughal emperors:

Nishat Bagh (Garden of Pleasure): Built in 1633 by Asif Khan, featuring 12 cascading terraces opening onto Dal Lake.

Shalimar Bagh (Abode of Love): Commissioned in 1619 by Emperor Jahangir for Empress Nur Jahan, famous for its black-marble water pavilion (Farah Bakhsh).

05:00 PM – 06:30 PM (Sunset Shikara Ride): Glide across Dal Lake, passing floating vegetable gardens (Radh), lotus pads, and wood-carved water chalets while the snow-dusted peaks reflect the golden twilight. Dinner and overnight stay on the Houseboat.
6
08:00 AM – 10:30 AM (Drive along the Sindh River): Check out from the houseboat and transfer your luggage to your private vehicle. Drive northeast along the scenic Srinagar–Leh Highway.
