Chamundi Hill & Sri Chamundeshwari Temple: Drive up the 1,000-meter hill to visit the historic temple dedicated to the patron deity of the Wodeyars. Stop en route at the monolithic Nandi Bull statue, carved from a single piece of black granite.

Brindavan Gardens Musical Fountain: In the late afternoon, drive to the Krishna Raja Sagara (KRS) Dam to stroll through the terraced Brindavan Gardens. Enjoy the evening musical dancing fountain light show. Return to Mysore town for an authentic South Indian dinner (sample authentic Mysore Masala Dosa). Overnight stay in Mysore.
2
09:00 AM – 10:30 AM (Srirangapatna Heritage Island): Take a short 15-minute drive to the historic island fortress of Srirangapatna. Visit the Dariya Daulat Bagh (Tipu Sultan's Summer Palace), built entirely of teakwood with fresco-covered walls, and the Gumbaz mausoleum.

11:00 AM – 01:30 PM (Mysore Palace / Amba Vilas): Tour the grand Indo-Saracenic Mysore Palace, designed by British architect Henry Irwin. Walk through the ornate Durbar Hall, Gombe Thotti (Doll's Pavilion), the Octagonal Kalyana Mantapa (Marriage Pavilion) with stained-glass ceilings, and the golden royal throne gallery.

02:30 PM – 05:30 PM (St. Philomena’s Church & Devaraja Market): Marvel at the twin 175-foot neo-Gothic spires and stained-glass biblical windows of St. Philomena’s Cathedral. Explore the centuries-old Devaraja Market, walking through lanes filled with fragrant Mysore jasmine (Mullai), pure sandalwood products, traditional silks, and natural incense. Overnight stay in Mysore.
3
08:30 AM (Scenic Forest & Ghat Drive): Check out after breakfast and drive south along NH-766. Cross into the thick bamboo and teak forests of Bandipur National Park (Karnataka) and Mudumalai Tiger Reserve (Tamil Nadu), watching for wild elephants, spotted deer, and Indian gaurs along the highway.

Climb the Nilgiri Hills: Ascend through misty eucalyptus forests and tea-carpeted slopes into Ooty (7,350 ft). Check into your hillside resort or colonial bungalow and freshen up.

03:00 PM – 06:30 PM (Botanical Gardens & Ooty Lake): Explore the 55-acre terraced Government Botanical Garden, established in 1848, home to over 1,000 species of exotic flora and a 20-million-year-old fossilized tree trunk.
