Arrive in Cochin, where you'll begin your scenic journey to Munnar, a hill station known for its lush tea plantations and misty mountains. The drive takes approximately 4-5 hours, passing through picturesque landscapes of valleys, waterfalls, and spice plantations. En route, you can stop to admire the Valara and Cheeyappara Waterfalls. After arriving in Munnar, check in to your hotel and relax. Spend the evening strolling through the town and enjoy a peaceful dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight stay in Munnar.
After breakfast, start your exploration of Munnar. Begin with a visit to the Mattupetty Dam, where you can enjoy boating on the tranquil waters. Then, head to Echo Point, famous for its echo phenomenon, and enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding hills. Continue your journey to Kundala Lake, where you can take a Shikara boat ride amidst the scenic beauty. In the afternoon, visit the Eravikulam National Park to see the Nilgiri Tahr and enjoy the panoramic views of the Western Ghats. You can also visit the Tea Gardens and Tea Museum to learn about Munnar's tea-making process. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay.2
On the third day, check out of your hotel and begin your journey towards Alleppey (approximately 4-5 hours drive). Alleppey, known as the "Venice of the East," is famous for its serene backwaters and houseboat cruises. Upon arrival, check into a houseboat or a resort by the backwaters and enjoy a relaxing afternoon. You can explore the serene backwaters, watch the lush paddy fields, and get a glimpse of Kerala's village life. Spend the night aboard the houseboat as it drifts through the tranquil backwaters, offering you a unique experience of Kerala's natural beauty.
On the final day of your getaway, enjoy a peaceful morning breakfast as the houseboat continues to cruise through the backwaters. After disembarking, drive back to Cochin (around 1.5 hours drive). Depending on your time of departure, you can explore Cochin's famous attractions, such as the Fort Kochi, Chinese Fishing Nets, and the Mattancherry Palace. You can also shop for souvenirs or relax by the serene Marine Drive before heading to the airport or railway station for your onward journey.
