Waterfalls & Spice Gardens: As the road winds through Neriamangalam, stop to view the cascading roadside steps of Cheeyappara Waterfalls and the misty forest curtain of Valara Waterfalls. Board the forest department bus to spot the endangered Nilgiri Tahr (mountain ibex) grazing along the high shola grasslands beneath Anamudi Peak (8,695 ft, the highest peak in South India). (Note: Park is closed annually for calving from Feb to late March; alternate visits to the KFDC Floriculture Centre apply).
11:30 AM – 01:00 PM (KDHP Tea Museum): Tour the heritage tea factory at Nallathanni Estate to see black tea processing from CTC crushing to packaging, complete with a tea-tasting demonstration.
02:00 PM – 05:30 PM (Mattupetty Dam & Echo Point): After lunch, drive along the Top Station highway past Photo Point to Mattupetty Dam (optional speed boating).
