Arrive at Chandigarh Airport (IXC) or Chandigarh Junction Railway Station, where your private driver will meet you. Begin your city exploration with an afternoon visit to the Rock Garden of Chandigarh, an open-air sculpture complex crafted by Nek Chand entirely from recycled ceramics, glass, and industrial scrap. Next, visit the nearby Zakir Hussain Rose Garden, home to over 50,000 rose bushes spanning hundreds of varieties. Finish the evening relaxing by Sukhna Lake, where you can enjoy an optional pedal boat ride or a sunset walk along the promenade before heading to your hotel. Overnight stay in Chandigarh (or opt for a direct evening ascent to Shimla).
After breakfast, set out on the scenic Himalayan Expressway toward Shimla (approx. 3.5 to 4 hours / 112 km), ascending through the Shivalik foothills. Arrive in Shimla and check into your hotel. In the afternoon, head up to the pedestrian promenade of Mall Road and The Ridge, taking in sweeping views of the surrounding valleys. Admire the neo-Gothic stained glass windows of Christ Church, Shimla, then ride the ropeway or drive up to Shree Hanuman mandir, Jakhu, Shimla atop Jakhoo Hill to see the 108-foot Hanuman statue. Overnight stay in Shimla.
Start early after breakfast for the scenic drive to Kufri (approx. 45–60 minutes / 15 km). Explore Kufri Fun World, one of the highest amusement parks in the world offering go-karting and valley views, or take a pony ride/hike to Mahashu Peak, Kufri for wide vistas of the snowcapped Himalayan ranges. Stop by the Himalayan Nature Park Kufri Zoo to spot high-altitude fauna like monal pheasants, musk deer, and brown bears amidst deodar forests. In the afternoon, begin your return drive down to Chandigarh Airport or Railway Station for your onward journey.
