Tour Itinerary
Arrive at Paro International Airport and meet your guide for the drive to Thimphu, Bhutan's capital. En route, stop at the Tachogang Lhakhang iron chain bridge. Upon arrival in Thimphu, visit the Tashichho Dzong, a striking fortress and monastery that serves as the administrative and religious center of Bhutan. In the evening, explore the lively Thimphu market.
Begin with a visit to the National Memorial Chorten, a monument dedicated to world peace, followed by a trip to the Buddha Dordenma, offering panoramic views of the Thimphu Valley. Continue with visits to the Folk Heritage Museum, National Textile Museum, and Takin Preserve. In the afternoon, explore the Changangkha Lhakhang, one of Thimphu's oldest temples.
After breakfast, drive to Punakha via the scenic Dochula Pass (3,100 meters), where you can see the 108 chortens and enjoy stunning views of the Himalayas. Upon arrival in Punakha, visit the Punakha Dzong, the "Palace of Great Happiness," situated at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers. Later, take a short hike to the Chimi Lhakhang, also known as the Fertility Temple.
Explore the Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten, a stunning stupa overlooking the Punakha Valley. Afterward, drive back to Paro, stopping at Simtokha Dzong, one of Bhutan's oldest fortresses. Upon arrival in Paro, visit the Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan's most revered temples.
Embark on a hike to the iconic Taktsang Monastery (Tiger's Nest), perched dramatically on a cliffside. After descending, visit the Ta Dzong, now the National Museum of Bhutan, and then explore the Paro Rinpung Dzong. Spend your evening strolling through Paro town.
