Upon your arrival in Baku, the vibrant capital of Azerbaijan, you will be greeted at the airport and transferred to your hotel. After checking in, take a relaxing stroll along Baku Boulevard, where you'll enjoy beautiful views of the Flame Towers and the Caspian Sea. Visit Maiden Tower and explore the UNESCO-listed Icherisheher (Old City), which is full of history, ancient streets, and vibrant markets. In the evening, savor a traditional Azerbaijani dinner at a local restaurant.
On your second day, begin your city exploration with a visit to the architectural masterpiece of the Heydar Aliyev Center, designed by Zaha Hadid. Next, head to Fountain Square and Nizami Street, both of which are popular for shopping, cafes, and their lively ambiance. Explore the Baku National Museum of History, where you can dive deep into Azerbaijan's rich heritage. End your day with a ride on the Baku Eye for panoramic views of the city before enjoying a delicious dinner at a fine restaurant.
Today, venture outside of Baku to explore the fascinating Gobustan National Park, home to ancient petroglyphs and mud volcanoes. Afterward, visit the historic Ateshgah Fire Temple, an important site for Zoroastrian worship, followed by a visit to Yanar Dag, also known as the "Burning Mountain," where natural gas has been burning for centuries. Return to Baku in the evening for a relaxing dinner.
This morning, depart from Baku and head to Quba, a charming town known for its scenic beauty and cultural heritage. Upon arrival, explore the historic Quba Mosque and the Quba Museum. Visit a local Carpet Weaving Workshop to witness the intricate process of making Azerbaijan's famous carpets. After exploring, enjoy a delicious dinner and overnight stay in Quba.
Start your day by heading to the stunning Quba Highlands, where you'll enjoy magnificent views of the Caucasus Mountains. Visit the Quba Cherry Orchard (if in season) and enjoy the beauty of the countryside. You'll also visit the Quba Genocide Memorial Complex to learn about the tragic events of 1918. In the afternoon, head to Khinalug Village, one of the highest mountain villages in Azerbaijan. The village offers incredible views and an insight into the local culture. Return to Quba for an overnight stay and dinner.
On Day 6, travel from Quba to Gabala, a scenic town nestled at the foot of the Caucasus Mountains. Upon arrival, visit the Tufandag Mountain Resort, where you can enjoy breathtaking views from the cable cars. Afterward, visit the stunning Yeddi Gozel Waterfall, a natural gem in the Gabala region. In the evening, relax in the serene surroundings and enjoy a peaceful dinner at your hotel.
This day will take you to Sheki, one of Azerbaijan's most picturesque towns. Start with a visit to the magnificent Sheki Khan's Palace, renowned for its intricate design and stunning stained-glass windows. Explore the Sheki Museum of History and the ancient Karavansaray, a Silk Road inn. Stroll through the charming Sheki Old Town, with its cobblestone streets and historical houses. Spend the night in Sheki, enjoying the town's local delicacies.
On the final day of your journey, you'll drive back to Baku. If time allows, stop by the Baku Carpet Museum for a glimpse into the rich textile heritage of Azerbaijan or shop for souvenirs at the local markets. After your last moments in the city, you will be transferred to Baku Airport for your departure.
